Prosciutto di San Daniele

Saint Daniel’s ham is a unique Italian regional product, the origins of which date back many centuries, when local inhabitants discovered favourable climatic conditions for the production of ham in the area of San Daniele del Friuli. It is a product protected by the European Union geographical origin designation, which proves its exceptional quality and tradition. This ham is distinguished by its intense pink-red colour and its characteristic delicate taste, which goes perfectly with dry white wine. It is made exclusively from pork leg, salted with sea salt and dried in the open air for at least 13 months.
Saint Daniel’s ham is often used in traditional Italian dishes (Bruschetta, Risotto with mushrooms, Pizza with arugula, Caprese salad), adding a unique taste and aroma to them.

FRICO

Frico is served as a snack or addition to other dishes. It is available in almost every store in this region.
It is a traditional Italian dish that is prepared from potatoes and grated cheese, usually Parmesan or Montasio, which is then fried in a pan, creating a crispy and golden layer. Some frico recipes also include onion, which enhances the flavour of the cheese.

Vogrig La Gubana

Gubana is a traditional Christmas cake from the Friuli region in Italy, rich in dried fruit and the aroma of rum or grappa. Its preparation involves kneading a fluffy yeast dough, which is then filled with a mixture of walnuts, almonds, prunes, figs, lemon peel and rum. After rolling the dough out into the shape of a snail shell, the babka is baked until golden brown. Gubana resembles the Polish poppy-seed cake both in its form and its richness of flavours. Although it is a traditional dish, it can be found in most stores. It is an inseparable element on the Italian Christmas table.

Pinza and strudel

Pinza is a traditional Italian yeast cake that is often prepared for holidays and other festive occasions. The baked cake can be sprinkled with icing sugar or covered with chocolate icing. Pinza tastes great both warm and cold. You can serve it as a dessert or a sweet breakfast.

Also popular is the Italian strudel cake, filled with various types of filling, such as apples, pears, cherries, raisins, almonds or poppy seeds. It is delicate and crunchy, usually served warm, often with vanilla ice cream or whipped cream. There are different variants of the Italian strudel cake, depending on the region of Italy, but you can always serve it as a dessert or a snack and it will taste great.
